The Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team presented a special livery on Friday evening that Glenn van Straalen will race this weekend at the TT Circuit Assen. Especially for the home race of the Dutch rider and the Dutch team, the Yamaha YZF-R6 is largely painted in orange.
In the presence of many sponsors and relations, Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing together with Glenn van Straalen unveiled a special livery on Friday evening. The presentation at the TT Circuit Assen showcased the machine the 23-year-old rider will use to start the two World Supersport races on Saturday and Sunday.
Besides revealing this special livery, five Ten Kate Racing Products customers received their Yamaha R1 GYTR Pro, a limited edition motorcycle in honour of the 25th anniversary of the Yamaha R1. Only 25 units will be produced of this machine which is almost identical to the R1 that Jonathan Rea, among others, competes on in the World Superbike championship. The six-time world champion was there to hand over these special motorbikes to their owners.
Glenn van Straalen: “I think the special livery is very cool. It turned out really nice and I am happy with the result. It is of course a very special race weekend here at the TT Circuit Assen and I think we will definitely stand out now. I would like to thank all the sponsors, partners and others involved from both the team and myself and I am looking forward to racing in front of the Dutch fans this weekend.”
Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team manager: “ Of course, the race weekend in Assen is always very special for us. As we have done in recent years, we try to do something special every time for our home race. We are not doing that this year with both riders but have something special here in Assen with Glenn and will do it in Misano with Stefano. We are extremely proud of that and it makes our home race just a little bit more special because of that. The fact that we have a Dutchman at the start again this year makes it a unique story. We are happy to do this together with Glenn and are looking forward to the two races at the TT Circuit Assen this weekend.”
The first 18-lap World Supersport race at the TT Circuit Assen will start at 15:15 on Saturday afternoon. Race 2 also starts Sunday afternoon at 15:15.

Het Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing team heeft vrijdagavond een speciale kleurstelling gepresenteerd waarmee Glenn van Straalen dit weekend op het TT Circuit Assen zal racen. Speciaal voor de thuisrace van de Nederlandse coureur en het Nederlandse team is de Yamaha YZF-R6 voor een groot deel in het oranje gehuld.
In het bijzijn van een groot aantal sponsoren en relaties heeft Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing samen met Glenn van Straalen vrijdagavond een speciale kleurstelling onthuld. Tijdens de presentatie op het TT Circuit Assen werd de machine gepresenteerd waarmee de 23-jarige coureur op zaterdag en zondag aan de start zal verschijnen van de twee World Supersport races.
Naast het onthullen van deze speciale kleurstelling ontvingen vijf klanten van Ten Kate Racing Products hun Yamaha R1 GYTR Pro, een limited edition motorfiets ter ere van het 25-jarig bestaan van de Yamaha R1. Er worden slechts 25 stuks geproduceerd van deze machine die vrijwel identiek is aan de R1 waarmee onder andere Jonathan Rea deelneemt aan het World Superbike kampioenschap. De zesvoudig wereldkampioen was erbij om deze bijzondere motorfietsen te overhandigen aan hun eigenaren.
Glenn van Straalen: “Ik vind de speciale kleurstelling heel gaaf. Het is echt mooi geworden en ik ben blij met het resultaat. Het is natuurlijk een heel bijzonder raceweekend hier op het TT Circuit Assen en ik denk dat we nu wel op gaan vallen. Ik wil alle sponsoren, partners en verdere betrokkenen van zowel het team als van mijzelf bedanken en ik kijk er naar uit om dit weekend voor het Nederlandse publiek te racen.”
Kervin Bos – Pata Yamaha Ten Kate Racing teammanager: “Het raceweekend in Assen is voor ons natuurlijk altijd heel speciaal. Zoals we de laatste jaren gedaan hebben proberen we iedere keer weer iets bijzonders te doen voor onze thuisrace. Dat doen we dit jaar niet met beide rijders maar hebben we hier in Assen iets speciaals met Glenn en zullen we dat in Misano doen met Stefano. We zijn daar enorm trots op en het maakt onze thuisrace daardoor nog net iets specialer. Het feit dat we dit jaar weer aan de start staan met een Nederlander maakt het een uniek verhaal. We zijn blij dat we dit samen met Glenn kunnen doen en kijken uit naar de twee races op het TT Circuit Assen dit weekend.”
De eerste World Supersport race op het TT Circuit Assen over achttien ronden gaat zaterdagmiddag om 15:15 uur van start. Race 2 begint zondagmiddag ook om 15:15 uur.
